___ my name is nenad peæanac, and i was born in 1981 in zadar, a small city on croatian coast
___ i started to show interest for music somewhere in '93 when some kind of electronic wave splashed my entire neighbourhood _ some of my friends' older brothers brought in this strange new music from foreign countries of western europe _ it was so wicked and interesting, and quickly i felt strongly drawn to it
___ almost every track contained sounds i've never heard before, sounds that inspired my imagination, that made me see through and beyond music _ it is often said that picture is worth a thousand words _ well, to me, sound of this music was worth thousands of pictures _ i completelly fell in love with it
___ soon, my friends and i got infected with all forms of electronic music, and we started organising parties for ourselves _ considering the fact we were still in primary school, and that my country was at war at that time, you can of course imagine that these weren't exactly parties anyone would understand under today's circumstances
___ they took place in an underground room, with dimensions about 7x5m, inside one of our street's buildings intended for meetings of it's tenants, who forgot all about it at those war times _ in that small room we gathered and had fun, we laughed, danced and explored the genres of electronic music _ it was our underground hideout, the place where we created our surroundings and shaped our ideas exactly the way we wanted to _ when we where there, all things made sense, and we all participated in creation of our own culture, independent of the outside world
___ at that time i picked up some basic knowledge about electricity through making of our homemade "light systems" :) _ i also started "djing", if you can call playing music from two tape decks and one cd player that way =)
___ it all went a little bit further for me when i came to highschool and started working on a local radiostation called donat fm in '98 _ there, i met dj ted, who became one of my best friends and taught me "the ways of MK2's" =) _ soon we were playing together on various parties around the city, and in some other cities around the country _ i profiled myself as an underground house dj, and genres my plays covered were deep house, progressive and later on techouse _ i also decided to present myself as dj d°gree, because i was very much impressed with physics at that time, especially quantum physics and theory of relativity, and the idea of having science that actually describes our world, or at least, most of it =)
___ degrees are very strongly conected with physics, because they define units of measurment for several physical quantities _ for example - rotational degrees define angles of rotation, then there are degrees of kelvin which represent units for measuring the temperature, than we have degrees of freedom which define possible directions of movement and momentum for particles and so on _ also, after each party, turntable motors have just spinned out thousands of degrees, and played out hours of music we all danced to, and had a great time ;)
___in year 2000, i came to zagreb, our capital city, to study computer science and for a while my musical career was at ease _ most of my friends have chosen colledges in other cities, so i found myself alone in a new city and devoted myself to studying _ at that time i attended parties throughout the town, and soon, i was strongly influenced by the techouse scene and particulary the legendary stereostudio parties
___ finally, in 2005 me and my friend daniel kunstek decided to get things going _ we bought turntables, mixers, collected vinyls throughout the year, and started a series of techouse parties at club masters in zagreb
___ in 2006 we teamed up with boris vukiæ a.k.a. dii dzii biii and formed a crew under the name le3ka _ we held residency at masters and organised dozends of parties throughout 2006 and 2007 with artists like eddie richards, dave mothersole, dave dk, manuel tur, russ gabriel, james priestly etc_
___ in 2008 new project is under way _ we call it the movement _ three organisations under one roof with the same philosophy _ to move and to be moved ___
___ in 2009 movement is off to a second club called aquarius _ club is situated on the coast of the jarun lake _ c u out there _
